Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman received the exit courtesy call of BGEN Alvin Luzon, July 1, outgoing Commander of the 101st Infantry “Three Red Arrows” Brigade, Philippine Army, as he formally concluded his tour of duty in Basilan. Joining the visit was COL Frederick Sales, Deputy Brigade Commander of the 101st Brigade.
During their meeting, Mayor Turabin-Hataman expressed her heartfelt appreciation for BGen Luzon’s dedicated service, commending his steadfast support in preserving peace and security in Isabela City and the province. She recognized his significant role in enhancing civil-military relations and fostering collaboration between the military and local government, which helped drive community resilience and progress.
In response, BGEN Luzon conveyed his gratitude to the City Government of Isabela for its consistent partnership and commitment to good governance. He emphasized that the success of peace and development efforts during his assignment was made possible through close coordination with the local government and active citizen engagement.
The City Government extended its best wishes to BGen Luzon as he embarks on his next chapter, recognizing his vital contributions to the stability and development of the region.
BGEN Luzon officially assumed command of the 101st Infantry Brigade on August 1, 2023, at its headquarters in Barangay Tabiawan. A proud member of the Philippine Military Academy “Bantay Laya” Class of 1994, he graduated magna cum laude and has since held key leadership roles, including as Commanding Officer of the 1st Military Intelligence Battalion and the 53rd Infantry (Matapat) Battalion, as well as Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations (G3) of the Philippine Army, and Assistant Chief of the Unified Staff for Intelligence (U2) at Western Mindanao Command.
