In line with its commitment to fostering spiritual and educational discussions during the Holy Month of Ramadan, the City Government of Isabela, under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, in collaboration with the Isabela City Muslim Employees Association, continues its Ramadan Lecture Series with a session on The Debts and Interest or Usury (Addanyu War Riba), March 13 at the City Hall Lobby.
The lecture was delivered by Sheikh Hassan Ahmad, a missionary from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, who provided valuable insights into the principles of debt, the implications of interest or usury in Islamic teachings, and their impact on financial and moral obligations.
This initiative aims to deepen the understanding of Islamic financial ethics among the Muslim community, emphasizing the importance of responsible financial practices that align with Islamic values. The session is part of the city’s broader efforts to support religious awareness and education, particularly during this sacred month of fasting and reflection. (Words by SJ Asakil/Photos by M.
