The Philippine Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PCCI) Isabela de Basilan, through president Julie Ann Marie Lim, convened with Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman on March 3, to outline key business concerns in the city as well as to revision of fiscal incentives for new businesses, as well as incentives for long-established businesses operating for 25, 35, and 50 years or more.
It also proposes the establishment of a Business Forum to discuss economic growth strategies and strengthen the partnership between the business community and the local government. Additionally, PCCI urges the city government to minimize or halt the increase in annual business permit fees, re-establish the Sunrise Police Assistance Center (PAC) for improved security, and designate a proper area for the Ukay-Ukay Night Market to prevent it from disrupting other business operations.
Present were Councilor Abner Rodriguez, City Administrator Pedrito Eisma, LEDIPO Chief Jaime Juanito Rivera, City Treasurer Mary Jane Abenojar and BPLD Chief Albert Porticos. (Words by SJ Asakil/Photos by M. Santos, CIO)
