CITY HALL HOSTS ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE FOR CATHOLIC EMPLOYEES

In observance of Ash Wednesday and in respect for its Catholic employees, the City Government of Isabela hosted a Eucharistic celebration on March 05. The Holy Mass was officiated by Rev. Father Pascual Benitez, parish priest of Sta. Isabel de Portugal Cathedral Parish.
Leading the Catholic employees in the observance was City Administrator Pedrito Eisma, as they listened to Fr. Benitez’s message, encouraging the faithful to practice abstinence, particularly from actions that lead to sin.
Ash Wednesday is a profound tradition in the Catholic faith, marking the beginning of the Lenten season. The imposition of ashes on the forehead, accompanied by the words “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return,” serves as a reminder of human mortality and the call to spiritual renewal through repentance, prayer, and self-discipline.
