To enhance community development and sustainability, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) IX turned over a cheque amounting to P5,945,425 to the City Government of Isabela on February 20. Representing DOST IX were Assistant Regional Director Ricardo Apolinario III and Project Technical Assistant I Jeron Elloran, with Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman receiving the fund on behalf of the city.
Of the total amount, P5 million is allocated for Project BOHE (Bringing Optimal Hydration through Eco-Friendly Desalination), which aims to provide a sustainable water source using environmentally friendly desalination technology, primarily benefiting Lampinigan Island. Meanwhile, P945,425 is allotted for Project MAGANDA (Mujeres Advocating Growth Activities in Nurturing Development and Advancement) to support livelihood and development programs for women in the area.
