Recognizing the importance of both security and tourism, Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman formally turned over the newly completed security outpost facility at Fuego-Fuego, Barangay Tabiawan—one of the city’s notable attractions. This initiative ensures the safety of both residents and visitors, reinforcing law enforcement presence while supporting the area’s growing tourism potential.
Divided into two phases, this infrastructure project provides a strategic base for security personnel, enabling them to respond swiftly to emergencies, maintain peace and order, and enhance overall safety in the community. With a total funding allocation of P3,487,841.87—P1,793,094.25 for Phase I and P1,694,747.62 for Phase II—the facility reflects the city’s commitment to public security and sustainable development. In addition to these, another significant project turned over was the concreting of road at Fuego Fuego with a total funding of P1,744,491.98.
In her short speech, Mayor Turabin-Hataman emphasized how these infrastructure projects directly contribute to tourism development and economic growth of the city. She also announced to the crowd the on-going construction of the city museum soon to rise in the same area.
