Spearheaded by Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, the program continues to make a significant impact on the education of students in Grades 2 to 6.
Held twice a week, each session includes one hour of structured instruction from a diverse group of partners, followed by two hours of focused reading practice. Over the course of 20 sessions, students benefit from personalized mentorship and periodic assessments to track their progress. This holistic approach not only enhances literacy but also promotes health awareness, aligning with broader community development goals.
A standout feature of the Sakayan-Kaalaman program is the HAPIsabela Mobile Library, which significantly enriches the learning experience. This mobile library brings books and educational resources directly to communities, ensuring that learning remains accessible for every child, regardless of their location.
By focusing on both academic achievement and personal growth, the program equips children with the skills and confidence to build brighter futures. Through strong community partnerships and a commitment to comprehensive education, Sakayan-Kaalaman continues to nurture a love for reading and lifelong learning among Isabeleño children.
