As GoGo (Good Governance) Isabela makes its continuous barangay caravan in Isabela City, it has reached its 15th stop at Barangay Sunrise on September 23, where more than 100 residents participated actively.
The GoGo volunteer speakers were Margarita Auxtero, Executive Director from the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Isabela (PCCI) together with Ameen Camlian.
Both speakers then highlighted the three local branches of the government, introduced the local government officials and their roles and responsibilities. The discussion also includes topics such as the source of the government funds and its transparent allocation for programs, projects and activities based on the priorities and necessities of the city which is in line with the 9-point priority agenda of Isabela de Basilan.
For their testimonies, participants had expressed that good governance is now being seen through the good development that is happening on Isabela City especially on its tourism sector. Additionally, the improved peace and order in the city and the increased in number of local and global tourists visiting Isabela de Basilan is a manifestation of positive developments in the City of Isabela.
As they were able to share their dreams for Isabela City in the near future, they expressed that their role as Isabeleños is to maintain the developments and improvements of the city through joining and voluntarily participating on every LGU programs, working towards good governance.
GoGo Isabela Caravan was made possible with the help and support of the very active Barangay Captain of Sunrise, Concepcion Andajao, BION Krem Andajao Boga, Barangay kagawad officals, barangay tanods, and utility workers. Also present in the GoGo session were Jham-Jham Kalbi, Barbette Jane Baclay, and April Winny Baclay as the GoGo secretariats including Qasim Tapsi as the GoGo documenter.
Good Governance Isabela Caravan or GoGo Isabela is a component of the LGU-Isabela City’s Information Revolution program under the administration of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman. It is an overarching program composed of series of information dissemination activities, which empowers all Isabeleños to join, contribute, and be part of achieving a transparent, participatory, effective and efficient local government.
