With the aim of forging a whole-of-city approach to address the concerning rates of teenage pregnancy and low contraception use in Isabela City, the City Population Management and Development Office in partnership with the City Health Office held a one-day engagement, September 10, with barangay and sangguniang kabataan officials on adolescent reproductive health (ARH).
CPMDO/CNAO Jesielyn Puno led the discussion that covered topics on key ARH issues and challenges, and ARH programs and services. This was followed by a session where the participants were asked to develop action plans on ARH promotion in their respective communities.
The activity aimed to raise awareness among barangay officials and SK leaders about the importance of ARH and its attached pressing concerns, to discuss the current state of ARH in the community, and to develop a plan-of-action to respond to these. (Contributed Report)
