Also discussed were the DSWD’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) updates, including the caseload from April to July 2024 with 9,309 household beneficiaries. It is also reported that a total of 326 Pantawid beneficiaries graduated/exited from the program on March of the same year. Issues and concerns, such as children not enrolled in school according to CV Monitoring Forms and lost/misplaced forms causing submission delays, were also addressed.
The presentation also included the City/Municipal Action Plan (CMAP), 4Ps success stories, and updates on the DSWD’s Bata, Balik Eskwela Campaign, which aims to encourage Not-Attending-School (NAS) children to return and stay in school. Issues such as child work, early pregnancy/early marriage, and bullying were highlighted as top reasons for absenteeism.
The city also recognized 29 IDEAL barangays for their outstanding efforts in combating Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) and 28 IDEAL barangays for maintaining high functionality in their Barangay Councils for the Protection of Children (BCPC), awarding P5,000 incentives to each. The awards were presented by Mayor Turabin-Hataman along with Councilor Sakkalahul, City Administrator Pedrito Eisma and CSWDO Nor-Aina Asmara.
Meanwhile, ten barangays were provided with mobile phone units through raffle draws. These phones will be used to respond to calls or texts from clients, network or refer cases to other agencies, and for the exclusive use of the Barangay Violence Against Women (BVAW) desk officers.
DSWD IX Kalahi-CIDSS: KKB Area Coordinator Imelda Lidasan gave an orientation on the implementation of Kalahi-CIDSS: KKB, highlighting a city grant allocation of P7.5 million.
