The Isabela City Local School Board chaired by Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman convened on July 30 and covered several significant agenda items.
For the DepEd School Calendar for SY 2024-2025, the LSB reviewed the school calendar for the upcoming academic year. There were also updates on the implementation and progress of the new Matatag Curriculum.
The meeting included a discussion on the development and future plans for the Teledukasyon initiative as well as updates on current and future school building projects was presented.
The results of Isabela City’s participation in the National Festival of Talent (NFOT), National School Press Conference (NSPC), and Palarong Pambansa were also bared.
Per status of Special Education Fund (SEF), a total of 19,712, 115 million pesos worth of projects for SY 2024-2025 was presented, covering all districts of SDO-Isabela City and for targeted benefit of select elementary and high schools in need of support, including the local Alternative Learning System (ALS).
During the meeting, it was also revealed that the ordinance instituting the Local Literacy Coordinating Council has been signed into local law.
Mayor Turabin-Hataman emphasized the board’s dedication to enhancing educational quality and recognizing student accomplishments across various domains.
Present during the LSB meeting were officials from the DepEd-Isabela City led by ASDS Dr. Maria Laarni Villanueva, FSPTA President Melany Duque, Isabela City People’s Council officers Dr. Sitti Hairan Ibrahim and Sheila Pagarian and representatives of civil society organizations. Also in attendance were City Administrator Pedrito Eisma, City Planning and Development Coordinator Gay Palagtiosa, City Budget Officer Haiat Aira Taguranao, and Asst. CHRMO Mojahed Cosain.
