The City Government of Isabela, in partnership with the Department of Health IX and the National Nutrition Council IX, celebrated the culmination of the 50th Nutrition Month with the Nutrition School on-the-Air graduation ceremony on July 30 at the Isabela City Civic and Cultural Center.
NNC IX Nutrition Officer II Ailrrsyt Gay Solosa provided a brief overview of the Nutrition School on-the-Air, highlighting its objectives and achievements. Following this, City Nutrition Action Officer Jesielyn Puno presented the 123 NSOA graduates for 2024.
NNC IX Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Nimfa Ekong, represented by Nutrition Officer III Elton Pelegrino, formally accepted the 2024 NSOA graduates and delivered an inspirational message, encouraging the graduates to apply their newfound knowledge to improve their communities’ health and nutrition.
NO III Pelegrino, assisted by CNAO Puno, led the awarding of the 2024 NSOA graduates with certificates of completion and food packs. The event also featured the announcement and awarding of the top 10 NSOA graduates, the City Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar (COBNS) for 2023, and the Best in Ethnic Attire for 2024.
In addition to the awards, the ceremony included a cooking contest, which showcased the culinary skills of the participants and emphasized the importance of healthy eating habits. The representative of the 2024 NSOA Graduates delivered a message of gratitude, followed by a valedictory address from the COBNS 2023, reflecting on their journey and the positive impact of the program.
The program concluded with a closing message from CNAO Puno, who expressed appreciation for the support and participation of all stakeholders and reiterated the city’s commitment to continuing its efforts in improving nutrition and health outcomes for its residents.
