Philippine Pencak Silat (Philsilat) Sports Association, Inc. president Princess Jacel Kiram-Hasan met with Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, June 4, to discuss the athletes’ success at the recent Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Athletics Association Meet, specifically for the several pencak silat categories. The meeting also centered on the potential programs to guarantee ongoing assistance for the young people who are interested in the mentioned sport.
In attendance during the meeting were SDO-Isabela City ASDS Dr. Ma. Laarni Villanueva, Division Sports Officer Dr. Arnel Hajan, CID Chief Henry Tura, BNHS Principal Lyna Basri, MAPEH Supervisor Fe Carna Jabarani, athletes, coaches, technical officials, and tournament director Edilbert Delica. LYDO Levinia Jarejolne and LEDIPO Chief Jaime Juanito Rivera were present.
A demonstration of the sport was also presented by select athletes much to the amazement of those gathered.
