Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman convened on June 14 the Isabela City Coffee Growers Association (ICCGA), headed by President Lee Roy Brown.
The gathering was centered around detailed updates regarding the current inventory of coffee seedlings available for planting across various nursery sites in Isabela City. As of June 6, Agricultural Technologist Jonathan Pedillon reported a total of 5,199 coffee seedlings ready for distribution: 2,500 in Maligue, 1,399 in Tabiawan, and 1,300 in Sitio Lantung in Baluno.
Among the key topics discussed were the ongoing assessments of coffee plant conditions in different areas, particularly in light of the recent prolonged dry spell that had adversely affected cultivation. Additionally, the meeting facilitated an inventory update of existing coffee growers and identified potential new participants interested in joining the coffee cultivation efforts.
Present at the meeting were stakeholders including ICCGA Vice President Victor Moore Ututalum, Secretary Eugene Strong, Treasurer Merha Hadji Uddin, Board Members Richard Silbol and Engr. Sajid Baholoy, Nazzer Lim, and Ricky Bernardo. Also present were LEDIPO Chief Jaime Juanito Rivera, and CAgO Agriculture and Biosystems Engr. Nur Tasneem Sali. (Words by SJ Asakil/Photos by M.
